Health insurance in the US is a crucial but very complicated matter for most people, BPSOS experienced navigators has been assisting our local vulnerable and underserved communities with affordable health coverages.
WHICH INSURANCE
AM I ELIGIBLE FOR?

Medicaid: Virginia has expanded its Medicaid program to include:
-
Children under 19
-
Pregnant women
-
People with disabilities
-
Low-income seniors
-
Low-income adults who have
been in the US for at least 5 years.

Medicare: Individuals who are 65-year-old and above can be eligible for Medicare. Generally, there are 3 parts to Medicare, one of which is premium-free if you have acquired 40 working credits in the US.

Marketplace: also known as Obamacare. This type of insurance covers low-income individuals who are not eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare.
SPECIAL ENROLLMENT
While Marketplace's Open Enrollment Period is over, one can still be eligible for Marketplace via Special Enrollment as long as they have recently experienced a "special event" listed below.
In 2022, individuals whose incomes are less than 150% of Federal Poverty Level can enroll into Marketplace without the need of
any special events.

MEDICARE
If you are a US permanent resident, 65-year-old or above and have filed taxes for 10 years in the US (or completed 40 working credits), we can assist you with Medicare. Medicare consists of 4 parts.
